September 7, 2010 – We’re off! 6:30 a.m. (Whoops, half hour behind schedule already! Sue’s fault . . . Joe was revving up the Chevy Malibu while Sue did “just one more thing” on the computer.) Finally, we headed out of our Tourville North Apartments and headed west . . . Joe, Sue and "Free Bear" our Celebration Bear gifted to us by Aunt Wilma of Scottsdale, Arizona (one of our “return trip” stops).
First stop: Starbucks of Marquette . . . thanks to wonderful friends and co-workers, we have Starbucks gift certificates to get us from Marquette to the original Starbucks in Seattle, Washington!
The day provided good traveling, other than the occasional relief and nourishment stops, we kept on movin', putting 700 miles on our tires before nestling in for the night in a Fairfield Inn in Bismarck, North Dakota.
“Get your motor runnin', Head out on the highway, Looking for adventure, In whatever comes our way . . . Born to be Wild” (Steppenwolf)
We're all living this retirement vicariously through you guys, so make it good!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sue & Jose! Miss you both already! Dear Sue, all these song references give me a vivid picture of you singing. Bill says we're fortunate your blog doesn't have audio! :-) All smiles from us of course. Keep your eyes on the road, your hands upon the wheel!
