September 15, 2010 – Last day in Seattle! Joe & I got up early and went to the Market to pick up a few things to make chowder out of the rest of the salmon that we bought for the BBQ. Since we’re leaving for Portland tomorrow, it was our last Market stop. It was nice to be there early before it got too crowded to take in the last of the wonderful smells . . . it’s amazing how coffee, fish, flowers and donuts can blend into a nice aroma. It was our last listen to the variety of musicians on almost every corner. We ate breakfast at the Crumpet Shop, one of our favorite stops from visits past.
I spoke too soon about the weather because it rained most of the afternoon which was actually nice because, after running a few errands, Angie, Joe & I hung out at Allison’s condo, making (I have to be honest, Joe made it) and eating the best ever chowder until Allison got home. Since this is our fourth visit to Seattle, we have seen all of the main tourist attractions on other visits . . . the Space Needle, the Great Music Experience (does everyone know that Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle?), the IMAX, the Japanese Gardens, the Red Hook Brewery, wine tasting, Fremont and hiking. It has been nice to enjoy some nice family time without having to be busy every minute. We had a great family movie night :-) We have to bid farewell to Rubin because he's not Portland-bound with us.

Hey, great to hear about (and see) your Seattle stay! Wish I could've tasted some of that salmon Joe cooked up! Looking forward to hearing about Portland.
