September 13, 2010 – Wow! What a day!!! We started out at Pike’s Market . . . for those of you who haven’t been here, check out their website: http://www.pikeplacemarket.org/ It’s unbelievable! You can find most anything there – fresh vegetables, fruit, flowers, fish, jams, honey, syrups, clothing, jewelry, artwork of almost any kind, bakery, and then, when you think you’ve seen it all, take the stairs down and there’s a whole new variety of shops!! We went to the world famous Pike’s Fish Market (some of my co-workers may remember the “Fish” video we watched that stresses having fun at work) to get some salmon for the upcoming evening BBQ (since we couldn’t catch our own fish). It’s fun to just watch the workers in the Fish Market – this is the market where you can participate in fish throwing, if you so desire. They get everyone laughing, even if you’re just walking by.
Okay, movin’ on . . . we also stopped at the original Starbucks for a cup of coffee – we’re still on Starbucks gift certificates from our wonderful friends and co-workers AND it’s a good time to mention that the pre-loaded VISA card that my co-workers gave me for a retirement gift paid for ALL of the gas, motels and food from Marquette to Seattle. Thanks so much – love you all. Kinda makes me wonder why I retired and left these wonderful people!!!
The next big event of the day was the BBQ! Allison invited a bunch of her friends over for dinner. Joe was the grill master and did a great job of cooking salmon and burgers. We met so many wonderful people. As the crowd thinned out, the remaining guests suggested we wander down to a local pub to listen to music as another friend of theirs was performing. It was so much fun! Maybe a little too much fun as my head is a little cloudy this a.m. Now you know why this post is a day late J Here’s to ya!!

I hear fish can give you a cloudy head in the morning. :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are all having a blast! Keep up the fun. Love Carol & Bill
I love the bear in front of the space needle. Great photo. Also the one with Joe by all the salmon. Looks like he is SALIVATING.
ReplyDeleteContinue the great trip. I am so jealous!
