Bokeelia

Hello – did you miss us?  We got lost for a couple of days in Bokeelia, Florida at the winter condo of my aunt & uncle, Myrna & Bud Ward.  Adding to our pleasant travels to their condo was the fact that, on a whim, Pat & Bobbie called their nephew, Shane, to see where he was located – to our delight & surprise, we were only 10 minutes away from him!  We met Shane and his, wife, Maria, at a Starbucks for a cup of coffee and a nice visit.

When we arrived at Myrna & Bud’s the sun was shining and the pool beckoned so we caught a few rays and took a quick swim.  Afterwards, Myrna & Bud threw an impromptu cocktail party so we could meet the neighbors – what a fun loving bunch!  The party was followed by a GREAT meal of Myrna’s infamous gumbo and a trip to Woody’s Bar for a couple hours of music.

In spite of drizzle and clouds, we joined Sandy & Don Salo from Marquette and took off in the morning on a boat cruise to Cabbage Key where we had a wonderful lunch  - Joe indulged in stone crab claws listed at “market value” which turned out to be $39 a plate!!  When we returned, the four of us did a little shopping before our cocktail hour at Sandy & Don’s – they sure know how to put out a spread!!!  We had intended to go out for dinner but the appetizers filled us up so much that we retired to Myrna & Bud’s for a round of golf . . . that’s a card game.  Bobbie won!!!

We got up at 6:30 a.m. and are headed to Key West!
